BARIS is a curatorial project founded in Vienna in 2025 by Katrīna Čemme. It approaches exhibitions as constructed situations rather than neutral formats, spaces in which theory, labour, and economic relations become visible and operative.

The project is concerned with how exhibitions function as systems: how meaning, value, and responsibility are produced through collaboration, circulation and the conditions that support artistic work. Exhibition-making is treated as a method, one that unfolds through shared responsibility, negotiated authorship, and sustained engagement between artists, curators, and partners.
